Examining Lebanese Secondary Students’ Biology Learning Loss due to the Economic Crisis and COVID-19 Pandemic

The economic crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic since 2019 forced both public private schools in Lebanon to close for an extended period of time. Many topics were suspended from curriculum due decreasing number learning days. predominant causes loss are lengthy gaps or cutouts students’ education. This study aims investigate impact school closure on learning, specifically biology at secondary level during between 2019-2022. is a mixed research: qualitative data was collected through document analysis compare covered official exams grade 12-Life Science section last two academic years with those implemented before dual crisis; quantitative teachers’ questionnaire address loss. results revealed huge biology, more than 50 % program not grades 10, 11-S 12-LS, decline quality exams. Similar obtained parallel addressing Lebanese mathematics.
